Filipino Stars and Straps

I’ve always disliked the Filipino Stars and Straps shirts. It’s an easy imitation. of In my opinion, they are unoriginal and are along the lines of the Adobo Adidas, The Ninong, and other gag shirts. Sure, they are cute and funny but it’s half-baked “Filipino Pride”. Sure, they are not meant to promote culture, and I get that but some are under the delusion that they do. There are better Filipino Shirts out there.
However……..I must admit that this big Filipino back tattoo from Angela looks great! Yup! I’m a hypocrite, but I can afford it.

Rupert is the lead vocalist of Eskapo – a Filipino punk band here in the bay area. He’s also a performer who was awarded the best spoken word artist by East Bay Express.

Pasko Expo 2008

Pasko Expo 2008 in Vallejo, CA is over and was OK. The reason I say only OK is that it was difficult to have conversations as we did at the Pistahan event this past summer. I had fun though. Highlights of the event was meeting fellow Baybayin artist, Christine Balza of suku-art.com and watching Charmaine Clamor perform. Sucks I didn’t have the chance to get a CD, autograph, and picture. It’s the 2nd time I missed out, next time. Pictured above is Rey Haguisan of Malaya Designs, Miss Teen Filipina 2008, Lyka, and myself. I still have Lakas hats and shirt for sale. Contact me if you want to order one.
At the event Ray and I provided free name translations. Here are a few of our customers.
